Face forward, smile. Come on... you too!
— Misaki [source]

Misaki (岬) was a teacher before he passed away in an accident at the stairs. He had met Yako previously when she was younger, often teaching her how to read, write, and use the abacus.

Appearance[]

Misaki was a middle-aged man that had brushed-back dark, brown hair along with sideburns. He also had copper brown eyes. As a teacher, he wore a black haori over his white dress shirt, as well as a plain, gray hakama. In addition, he wore plain, white tabi socks and geta shoes.

Personality[]

Misaki was devoted to teaching his students, even to Yako, who was incarnate of the fox Inari statue in the school's old courtyard. He ocassionally teased Yako's curiousity when it came to styling her hair and teaching her. When it came to grading her work at writing sentences, he made red marks on misspells and substituted simple phrases with more details. In the teacher's comments, he wrote criticisms to improve her writing, comments of his own, and compliments. Nevertheless, the two of them shared a close bond until Yako heard the news that Misaki had passed away, a rumor in which she heard a teacher had fallen off the stairs and died.

Abilities[]

Unlike most humans, Misaki was able to see and touch Yako. For the school picture, he had pulled Yako from the fox statue so she could be part of the photograph as well. This was because he was nearing the far shore, as he later died months after Misaki met Yako.
